Credit card lower rate?? I have no credit cards!! Rude jerk!!! When I told him to take my number off the list. He replys "that sucks" and hangs up on me. Caller ID just read "Phone". All these companies have found ways around the caller ID.
I have a friend that works at the phone company, and she has told me that when you call any "800" number, the person receiving the call on the other end is able to see your phone number on their caller ID. It doesn't matter if your number is blocked or not. They're paying for the "800" number, and that includes being able to see who is calling them.
It is the end of the year and the bottom feeders are coming out in droves. My phone has been ringing off the hook the last three days from these morons.
Received a call from this number: 971-220-1771. "Gresham, OR" on caller ID. It was a robo-call telling me to "Press 1" to find out how to lower credit card interest rates. When I pressed one a man answered and said "Card member services. Did you press 1 to find out how to lower rates?" I said, "I pressed 1 to find out what card member services is." I was then disconnected.
I have long ago placed my home number on the Do Not Call Registry. Why does this call get through?
