Caller ID said Rhododendron OR. No voice response when I answered. Totally agree with the poster who wished politicians would add this daily nuisance to their talking points.
On my phone company you can add non-local numbers. First make sure the block service is on, you'll probably have to add a local number, I picked one random from the phone book. After they call from the number you want to block, pick up, listen for the dial tone, punch in *60, a voice should say 'your call block service is now on,' punch in #01#. That should work on most numbers, but not on out-of-area calls. Then you can remove the local number, we have only 10 numbers we can block.
Yes, they call regularly. I've tried answering and pretending to be interested... I've heard that by trying to keep telemarketers on the phone... waste their time... it hurts the telemarketing industry (statistics I suppose). They hang up on me every time! Once I simply gave a fake name- maybe the knew I was lying? Another time I simply questioned the discrepancy between the initial recording that said, "if you have $3k in debt..." vs. the actual person who asked if I had at least $5k in debt... "click" he hung up without answering.
There needs to be a better way to report scammers like this because I feel bad for the old person or naive person who actually falls for this and gets taken advantage of. Sad and wrong. JUSTICE!
I get calls from 971 333-8934 at least once a week, starting a couple of weeks ago.
Caller ID says financial center. I will be getting another phone with the call block feature very soon. The other posts are correct; the do not call list should really "call me as many times as you like on all phone numbers-land line and cellphone" without any repercussions. Sounds like it could be Wall Street!
