IT IS ODD SAME THING HAPPENED HERE, THEY GET YOUR NAME, NUMBER AND THEN WHEN THEY GET YOU TO SAY "YES" THEY ARE DONE. ALL I CAN SAY IS WATCH YOUR PHONE BILL FOR UNWANTED CHARGES AND KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT. THEY RECORD YOUR COVERSATION WITH THEM, EDIT IT INTO WHATEVER THEY WANT. (KIND OF LIKE CUT AND PASTE) NOW I AM STILL ALMOST 2 YEARS LATER CLEANING UP MY CREDIT. ABOUT $12000.00 SO FAR IN PURCHASES FROM PART OF THE WORLD THAT I WOULD NEVER GO TO. NOW I JUST SAY "SORRY" AND HANG UP....
Not only did I get a call from this number, but the guy who identified himself as Jim Roberts, was rude and inappropriate. I knew to be suspicious because of the number, and then he asks for the Owner of my company by his first name which... I know the people that call and ask for him by only his first name so I said, "he's not here" and said nothing else... he replied, "where's he at?" and we basically got into a pissing match.. he told me to lose my piss poor [***] attitude and tell him where he's at! I hung up on him at that point. I wish these calls were truly traceable.
Got call just now (in Barrie Ontario) asking for owner of the company by his name. I asked what it was pertaining to he said he was looking for a quote. I stated the owner was not in the office at the moment and would be more then willing to take a msg. He was quick to say he had the cell phone number and would contact him there... so I left it at that.
If he did have my fathers cell number (because this is the home office for a small family buisness) then im sure ill hear about the call coming through tonight when my dad gets home. If he doesn't and he was just saying it to get off the phone then that's fine too...
Just got a call from the most rude sales person ever whose caller ID displayed this number. He was asking for the owner of our business and when I told him that he was on the other line and asked if there was anything I could help with or if I could take a message, he says "Just tell him it's Gene, I'll hold". I asked "Gene" who he was with and he very haughtily replied "You don't need to know who I'm with, just tell him it's Gene." I politely informed him that it was my job to screen the owner's phone calls and asked if I could perhaps find out what he was calling about. "Gene" very rudely told me that he didn't need my prissy attitude and just wanted me to put the owner on the phone. I told him I couldn't because he was on the other line and said that I didn't appreciate the way he was speaking to me and hung up on him. He sounded like a very pushy sales person who perhaps watched "Boiler Room" a few too many times.
