This number is to a company called Prison Call Solutions (PCS). They help inmates and their families have less expensive phone charges by deposing funds into an account that serves as a local calling card, to avoid long distance charges. this company serves all US jail facilities, hence all the different caller ID locations.
I don't think this is a scam, cuz I called the detention center office to get the booking # of my friend who called me collect from this number, and they were able to provide it to me once I gave them his name and told them that I wanted to send him a letter in the mail, but it requires hi full name & booking # on the address info.
Some of you should try to change your attitude against people who are in that situation. I did a little over 2 years and the ONLY way to contact the outside world or your loved ones was through this system. Most people I meet have no idea that i've been through all that but it's made me a better person and also enlightened me as to how 90% of our prisons are. They are wharehouses for storing people basically, people from all walks of life most of whom got caught with drugs as i did. Our government is working very hard to try to criminalize most of us and uses drugs as one of the main tools to do so. The goal is to disarm us and eventually erode our constitutional rights to nothing. Of course by that time each of us will have been run through the system for SOMETHING and will be forbiden to have a gun thereby eliminating resistance to their ultimate plan. Anyway keep in mind that prisons are completely full at all times with people exactly like yourself. family, friends, neighbors, ect. I was doing time with people imprisoned for no car insurance, verbal assault, drinking in public, and all sorts of minor things that not long ago would only be misdemeanors. Those scary looking prisons on tv are the maximum prisons and make up only a very small percentage of inmates. (These inmates in max are in my opinion the only people that have done really serious crimes and harm to persons and do deserve to be there, but the other 90% do not deserve to be there and are good people being victimized by a corrupt system) Do not talk bad about any inmates. Forget to pay your car insurance a couple times or yell at your spouse and you'll have your turn trying desperatly to reach someone on the blue phone to beg a measely 20 bucks to buy shampoo, soap, and other vitals for the next 2 months.
It's a scam, fishing attempt to use your phone to second party bill u. Don't answer, just ignore it and it will go away. They will be persistent, so you need to be as well.
