This number calls often around my supper time. I usually don't answer, but today I did. Caller ID gives this number and Dallas TX. Male voice tells me his name and asks me if I'm Mrs. (my last name) and I say yes, what do you want. He then tells me he has important information about my mortgage. I tell him there's nothing wrong with my mortgage and tell him to please not call again. He insists on saying more, so I hung up after saying I did not want another call.
They called on 2/16/15 at 1500 hrs. My husband answered and a man said he wanted to refinance our home. When my husband said we weren't interested the man asked how long we'd lived here, what the interest was, and how much we still owed. Finally, my husband hung up on him. We live in Oregon.
Answered call during first ring on my cell phone and nothing on the other line. Held off from hanging up to see if there would be a recording or late answer. Only dead air.
Mortgage interest SCAM. Just called me at work. Female kept mispronouncing my last name. Fishing for personal information. I told the little witch to "run along" and don't call this number again. Number being my work number.
These robo telemarketers are scammers. They have spoofing technology that is able to bypass your Anonymous Call Block option. If your phone number is part of the Cable TV/Internet/Phone package, this is how they are able to get through to your phone. The telecommunication companies hands are tied due to laws that protect these "telemarketers". I have spent over three months reporting these harassing telemarketing robocalls to the FTC and they have done nothing about it except just take the information I provide to them. The FTC say they are passing this onto law enforcement agencies but I doubt that. A friend of mine and I have finally decided to go after these telemarketers. We've gotten a few more people involved now and am encouraging you get up and fight back. You have to form a coalition within your own neighborhoods. Many of these numbers you can track via internet and discover where the "telemarketing" calls are originating from. When you are talking to the telemarketer, get their name and company and try to find out where they are located. Chances are they either hang up or won't give you honest information but you can get something out of your conversation with them. Don't give them any of your personal information, they'll probably already know some of it. Do not confirm with them if they ask you any fishing questions about you, just insist on getting their information. We've managed to locate one call center located in Van Nuys, CA, who were using several different spoofing local phone numbers and were posing as local painters, solar experts, home remodeling and charity organizations. If you tell them to stop calling you and request that they remove your information from their list but they will continue to call you back and will hang up on you after a brief 8-10 seconds of blank air space. This is harassment - track these hang up calls. Start making a list. We have filed harassment police reports in our local neighborhoods against this company and we suggest that you do the same against any of these telemarketers that are harassing you. If you want to this to stop, this is the ONLY WAY to go. I've tried everything else. We need more people to get up and fight back.
