Can DYCK O'NEAL put this on your credit statement and affect your FICO?
We short sold a year ago with nothing owed mortgage-wise anymore. At the time, we were told that D-N would come after us for $5000. , 0% and only to pay $50. a month. We paid a few months. They offered a 50% discount 4 months later via phone and mailed letter. I said ok I would have to call them back. I called and emailed and got NO response.
What do I do? We can't afford our FICOs to get any lower. Is it worth paying but what if this is a scam?????

Yes Dyck O'neal reports to a credit bureau - and not paying will hurt your credit rating. Get a credit report from all 3 sources and check it out. You get a free one now once a year from all 3 thanks to a government mandate.
They are trying to collect on a second mortgage from us after we foreclosed on the house. My ex filed for bancruptcy leaving me with this lovely debt. So, if you had a second mortgage that's what this is about. I had no idea we would still be responsible for the second. I've been ignoring letters for 3 years. Today was my first phone call. Good luck.
