The fact that it's NOT a criminal offense at all and this is a scammer trying to scare you into paying? Anything to do with the Treasury or IRS is CIVIL, not CRIMINAL
UPDATE: The liar left a message stating he was calling from the United States Treasury stating I was to appear before a grand jury and failure to do so would cause me to be in contempt or some such thing (message was not as clear as it could've been) regarding a federal criminal offense. At my old age and my painful and declining health conditions, I'm only capable of getting a jaywalking ticket. Only offense I could be guilty of for the past several years is staying in my dwellings while minding my own business. Has this "notorious" activity of minding one's own business become a federal offense in this country?
