The fact that it's NOT a criminal offense at all and this is a scammer trying to scare you into paying? Anything to do with the Treasury or IRS is CIVIL, not CRIMINAL

message stating he was calling from the United States Treasury stating I was to appear before a grand jury and failure to do so would cause me to be in contempt or some such thing (message was not as clear as it could've been) regarding a federal criminal offense.
I received a call and my caller ID said "withheld" so I didn't answer. A minute later a I had a voice mail message. Oh good! I thought, I'll find out who intentionally withheld their number. It was a recording about an impending court case, yadayada… described above. And they left this number as a call back number. Glad to see some of you are calling it back and harassing them. This should still be reported to the Do not call registry. They gave a number in the voicemail and a live person is apparently answering, so let the Feds handle it.
Exactly what happened to me: 'For the second day in a row I have received a call from this number. A recording says "I'm sorry, but that is not a valid extension".'
