i got a call today saying a senior executive reviewed my resume on monster and wants to meet with me. It did sound like a reputable call. i am glad i checked the phone number 1st! That's really a crappy thing to do....preying on unemployed people's money.
Got the call today from Patty and she wanted me to come in to the office. She said someone "forwarded" my resume to her boss, and he wanted to meet with me. Of course, those of us who are looking for a job get very excited when we get a call . . .but, I'm glad I checked here first!
Thanks to all who have posted here. I got a call today as well from "Patty" (if that's her real name) sayin that a top executive of their company found my resume on Monster.com and they wanted me to call back to schedule a time for an interview. I was a little leary anyway because most of the time if someone calls witha legitimate job opening they at least tell you a little about it like Title, location and name of the company. Maybe even a few of the job responsibilities. I'm glad I checked the phone number and found all these posts first. I won't be returning Patty's call. Thanks again to all of you.
"Patty" called me today as well. Apparently she spells her name two different ways. I received a confirmation email from her in which her name was spelled "Patti". When I responded to her email with a few questions of my own (our phone conversation was very one sided with no opportunity for questions) she replied with the spelling "Patty".
I should have known right away while speaking with Patty/Patti that things weren't on the up-and-up when she didn't offer me an opportunity to ask questions. A reputable company would have been only too willing to take questions. I sent an email to TOP (Patty) asking about their fee structure and details of the services they provide. It was like pulling teeth. She wouldn't offer any information willingly and would only send two sentence responses. Needless to say, I cancelled my initial appointment immediately.
