Received a call from "Merchant Services" (1-972-852-0898) saying they needed to correct an over billing on our account. She asked me to pull a monthly statement from the previous month and divide the total charges and fees by the total sales. After telling her the percentage I got, she said she needed me to fax her a copy of the statement addressed to her attention (Barbara Ray) at 1-855-924-2774 (Fax) I asked why she needed that, if she works for our processor she should have it. She hung up. I realized this couldn't be legitimate and immediately put the number into google. Be very careful and don't give account information out to anyone!
Just had a call from Susan Jones(972-852-0898), also trying to tell me she needed to correct an overbilling on our account. She also said she was from Merchant Services. Then wanted me to fax statement to her, atten: Susan Jones (1-855-924-2774). She put me on hold, I put her on hold, then I got on the computer and verified that this is a scam. She called back(214-622-8837) saying we were disconnected. She told me to then fax the statement to her. Of course told her I wasn't sending her anything. I told her to just "credit back". She got mad at me for wasting 12 minutes of her time??
Said she would run credit. We'll see, but highly doubt anything will happen
Just got a call from this number . He stated he worked for Merchant Services and they had determined that we were overcharged on our June and July credit card statements. Then he proceeds to give me a confirmation number to write on the statements and fax them to them. I asked why they needed a copy of our statements if they already knew we were overcharged. He never got rude but it just didn't sound right to me. I told him thanks but no thanks and hung up.
"Ryan Davis" called saying we were overpaying our processing fees according to our contract. He didn't seem to know the layout of the statement, or what fees we were actually charged. He wanted me to fax the statement but when I said I was confused as to why the company that was calling me would need a copy of the statement they sent me, he got very aggressive. I told him I would just call the customer service number on our statement and he responds "that's just sales". I said "No, it's customer service", and he goes "yeah, customer service sales." WTH does that even mean?!
