I just got one too???? Saying it was about a very important legal matter and left a number for me to call back.... I didn't have a chance to write it down.
Same as the others. Recording saying "they've tried to contact us many times in regards to a serious legal matter If you have already been contacted by our county, disregard this message. Other wise contact us (no company name given)
Same type of call as above reports. Caller ID shown as "Barnes & Assoc." Just another scammer using scare tactics to get someone to send them some money. I don't answer unknown numbers, or return calls to unknown numbers, and certainly not to such threatening messages. I have no unpaid debts, old or new. Don't know why "Scam" is not listed below as a Call Type.
Got this message and I decided to have some fun with this. I called the number back and spoke to someone named Monica I think. I told her that her message contained no names or what this is about. She said that I'm in debt. I replied, "Gee how much debt am I in?" She replied, "Alot." I'm like, "Wow...really? Well we better get this fixed!" She started to talk about money this and money that and I cut her off and asked, "Who are you calling for btw?" She replied, "You." I said I don't have a "you" working here. This is an office." This is when she started to get mad and back pedal. "Look sir. You're in debt and I'm trying to resolve it..." I cut her off again and said, "How. How are you going to resolve something when you called an office for on thing and two, you don't even know who you're talking to." She replied, "Well I am talking to you." I laughed said, "There is no "you" here and you're calling a federal building." She said "Oh sh*t" and hung up.
Received a call from this number, sounded like a female on the message she left stating they've tried to contact me numerous times regarding my verbal statement and if I've already been contacted by my county disregard this message. I called back and a male answered. When asked he said works for Barnes & Associates. He was irritated when I didnt give himmy name and when I asked himwhat kind of company is this, he said "litigation and mediation. I asked litigating and mediating what, and when he didnt answer I said "so you litigate and mediate EVERYTHING"? He started naming things like tax liens and wage garnishment when I broke in wiith "so you're a debt collector?" For some reason this made him a bit angry so I told him I couldn't think of anyone who would want to mediate or litigate against me so thanks for the call and hung up. He immediately called me back from 303-309-0769 addressing me by name even though I hadn't given it to him before. He was EXTREMELY agitated and told me I just need to pay my bills and that the only fraudulent person on this call was me. BUT WAIT!! Inever called him or his company fraudulent so why that choice of words??? Unless, of course, he and his company ARE frauds.
