I just got one too???? Saying it was about a very important legal matter and left a number for me to call back.... I didn't have a chance to write it down.
I got a call on my cell from 972-865-7252 they left a voicemail saying they have made several attempts of trying to get ahold of me about my claim, what claim? The caller id said Barnes Asso. Did not call back
Guys this is a scam. I have been getting calls Like this for 2 years. Every three or four months....they use a different phone number and company name. Always threaten legal repercussions. I simply add the new number to my block list. You wouldn't believe how long that list is getting. I have even told them to come on and arrest me. They never come. They even call my work. So freaking sick of it....but no options really except block or don't answer.
They called and said I owe money on an account that already was settled through court and paid in full well over three years ago. I have court documents proving it and it was removed from my credit report. The woman said I was lying about it and that the sharif would be sent out to arrest me.
Now I maybe ignorant when it comes to the law, but I know that you don't file with a collection agency and then file for an arrest as that cost more for them both than the 10 dollars they claim I still owe and the 100 dollars processing fees.
