The connection was horrible. Kept breaking up and I was on a land line.
What is wrong with people that they need to take advantage of anyone they can?
America has turned into a non-trusting country. So very sad.
Do not be fooled. These are fake IRS agents pretending to collect a debt owed to the US Treasury. When I played along with the caller, I asked which office he was calling from. He couldn't answer. Then I said, "I want to make a payment in person." Of course, he said you can only pay by check. When I asked for the address he said Washington DC.
Look, these are well known scammers. Don't fall for it. If the IRS wants you, they send you letters about a debt owed and even then, if you are willing to work out a pay plan, they don't go and sue you right away.
Block the caller, or better yet tell him you are not fooled and that pretending to be an IRS employee is fraudulent.
