Heavy Indian accent. I couldn't understand anything. At first I heard "law suit" so I told her she had the wrong number. She repeated my cell # back to me (making me very confused and pissed at the same time). I told her I didn't understand her and to put someone else on the call, then I heard "you signed up for the contest at the mall" and I never do this type of thing. Hung up on her and blocked the call. For the record, I'm on the Do Not Call registry and unless the caller is in the US, they need not abide by this. This caller may have a Dallas, TX landline, but she is no where near Dallas I assure you. Do Not Call is a joke, as are the "reporting agencies" for harassing phone calls. Trust me---be thankful you can block these calls directly from your cell.
Got call this morning on my cell phone. Same M.O. as above, heavy Indian accent. Told him he was calling me at work and to not to call anymore. Before I hung up, I can make him saying "you don't even know what this call is about..." I hung up.
Just got the same call. Man with a thick Indian accent, calling to "confirm that you won a trip from a coupon you or your partner filled out last year, so Congratulations." I listened to his whole spiel, waiting to see what the hook was. He finally asked me if something was wrong? When I replied "no", he said "are you feeling okay, because this whole conversation you don't sound like a winner." I actually laughed out loud, and told him I was waiting to see what else he had to say.
He hung up saying that his Manager was the only one authorized to release the "gift claim #" and if I would be available by phone, he would be calling me in the next 2-3 minutes with the claim number and the location of where I could pick up my prize package.
Received call from man saying his name was Mark Robinson 5/15/14. He said I entered a contest and marked COUPLE. I repeatedly kept saying he had the wrong number and hung up.I DID NOT ENTER ANY CONTEST!
They just called me, same thing and man with thick Indian accent, telling me I won 1 of 2 trips because I filled out an interest card somewhere (which I did not) Tried to verify that I had a partner, if I was over 30 and verify my HH income. I messed with him. He asked if I was married, I said no. He asked if I was single, I said no. He was very insistant so I told him obviously if I am not married or single, I must have someone and why does it matter. Same gig you all got. Must be for couples and manager will call back. Well the manager did call back with a real bad Austrailian accent. The company is Worldwide Travel. Obviously it is a time share gig and they are renting convention rooms at hotels which is why the mass phone calls trying to get potential buyers into the seats for the pitch. You will not be able to dial the number back, but the manager called me back from same number.
