SCAM alert! I just got a call from 978-376-7327. They asked if I have parents, and that they have a male and a female that were in a car accident. They asked for the color of my parents car and my parents names to "verify". I asked them "where" and they said "dupage". I only gave them my parents first name, and I said I don't know my parent's car color. I googled the number - There's one other incident on facebook involving the same phone number. Apparently they are trying to pull information to try to get to your parents and fake a kidnapping to extort money. I'm not sure where they found my number
Same thing told my 74yr old father his daughter was in an accident.....same crap well guess what if I ever can track this dick down he will be in the hospital....my father has Verizon anyone else have the same cell company??
My brother-in-law got a call this morning with the same type of message. Saying his parents were in an accident although he was half awake he had the sense not to give them any information. He does have Verizon not sure if this is a coincidence. Since they were out of town they called the police to watch their house just in case.
978-376-7327 Stated that our nephew Chris was involved in an accident driving a truck in Gilbert AZ. They didn't have insurance and the wanted their money now.. That they were with a drug cartel and will Kill Chris if we didn't give them the money they wanted I told them I didn't have money and they said would call us back. Called my nephew and he is a cop said everyone was okay good thing I called cuz it was a prank.......
WHAT A**HOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They called my dad's cell Sunday morning and stated that their daughter was involved in a car accident and that I was being held hostage due to the fact that I caused the accident. They asked to verify my name and what kind of car I drive. They told my dad they wanted $1700 dollars now, if not they would kill his daughter. Then my dad said he doesn't have that amount of cash on hand, so they told him to go to the nearest Walmart and take his ID and credit card. This caused my family so much stress and panic and its a good thing that my mom called me as my dad was leaving, and I picked up. The guy on the phone had a black voice and was extremely demanding. The police was notified. Thank God my family is ok. How can people have no heart and cause people so much stress saying their daughter is being held hostage? I thought there is more good in the world.
Same deal here. He called saying he was so glad I answered and that there was an accident involving my parents. Asked for their names and I said "you tell me" asked what color of car they drove and I said "well tell me what cars were at the accident" he said black suv, white sedan, and a silver truck. He said they crashed into his brother's Mercedes in Gilbert, AZ and that his brother was in the Mexican drug cartel. It sounded fishy to me so I told him "well thanks for the info, I'll call my parents and check on them". My parents and I both have AT&T. No clue how they got my number or knew my parents lived near Gilbert.
