16 May 2014 Just received my second call this week from the Indian dude using the Microsoft/error scam. Same line as all the others have reported. I told him he was a scammer, not to call again, to remove me from his call list and then I hung up. I have blocked this number, too.
Indian gentleman called from this number, saying the same thing he's been telling everyone else on here. I asked him if he was selling something or was needing my information (to see what kind of scam he was trying to pull), and he said he was going to give me some instructions to follow on my computer to fix the error. I said "Nice try, but absolutely not," and hung up. If you try calling the id# back, it doesn't work. If he calls again, I will ask what number he can be reached back on. If it's a legit business (which I know it isn't), he'd have a number for someone to contact him. I'm curious what his excuse would be for not having one.
Caller ID said Kristin Young. Indian speaking person said they were from 'the technical department' and I had a problem with my computer. 'They' had received information that my computer detected problems and reported the problems to them.
I can't wait for him to call again, I have multiple computers; I wonder how long I can keep him going....maybe I should wait until he talked a while and then say - I forgot to tell you I am recording this call for training purposes....lol
