It is illegal to use RDD (random-digit-dialing) with cell phones, however your number is basically available from anywhere you may have input it. Also, "do not call" lists do NOT apply to marketing research so if you're being called for a "survey" then they are unfortunately well within their rights to contact you. Just ignore or tell them you will not participate.
I never answered but called back from my work phone and found it to be a company offering "employment opportunities". I added my number to their do not call list. We'll see if it works.
about signing up for a survey that including a walmart gifted. and yet i have never given out my cell number to anyways and had it only for this past week.
Yeah, got a call from that # last friday. Didn't recognize it. Didn't answer it. I typed it into Google and got this message board! (203) is Fairfield County, CT. or Waterbury, CT.
just got a call, didnt answer. they have software that identifies you if you pick up. they then have your contact info and most likely use it for marketing. i have hundreds of contacts stored in my cell phone so I know who is calling most of the time. if a caller isnt in my contact list, i dont answer.
