It is illegal to use RDD (random-digit-dialing) with cell phones, however your number is basically available from anywhere you may have input it. Also, "do not call" lists do NOT apply to marketing research so if you're being called for a "survey" then they are unfortunately well within their rights to contact you. Just ignore or tell them you will not participate.
I got a call from this number today. Fwd it to voicemail because even through I am from CT...I didn't recgonize the number. They left a blank voicemail.
It could be identity theft.. i got a call at 945am on saturday morning saying that they are calling me with regards to some career survey i filled online. And that they needed to verify certain information. The guy asked me for my date of birth.. i told him i was not interested and hung up.
