I received a phone call from this number; the message was that "this is IRS office calling to inform me that IRS is going to have a lawsuit against me.
It's s an absurd, total scam.
Same robocall at 8:45am today. Pretty sure the IRS does not go through the rigamarole of "filing lawsuits."
Funnily enough, I got a different one a couple of weeks ago from a different number, threatening me with actual jail if I didn't call them back, so they seem to have de-escalated! Not only that, but I just got a notice in the mail from the real IRS saying they owed ME money.
I am also amused by the fact that someone used to use the same number for the "you've received a grant" scam.
Received a call on 7/8/2015 from 1-206-201-2152 with computerized female voice saying, "The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 206-201-2152. I repeat 206-201-2152. Thank you". Decided to report this as a possible SCAM as I have heard warnings about such IRS Lawsuit phone scams on the NBC and CBS news.
