"Internal Revenue ServiceS"--note the s they use in their robo-scam call. The IRS doesn't play this game, so just delete the message and their supposed threat. Ooooooo, I'm terrified.
Got a call from 206-201-2400. Stated that they were from the IRS crime unit. Told me or my attorney to call and not disregard the call. Wished me good luck with whatever ensued if I didn't call back. Scam call I am sure.
Received a call "Out of area" at 5:15pm May 15 which stated the following via a robot call: "We are with the Crime Investigation Unit of the Internal Revenue Services. The hotline to our division is 206-201-2400. Again that number is 206-201-2400. Do not disregard this message, return the call now. If you don't return the call or if we don't hear from your attorney either the only thing we can do is wish you luck as the situation unfolds for you. Have a great day ahead." This is not the way Criminal Investigation works, I should know I'm a retired IRS employee. Do not return the call, it is totally bogus.
I just received the phone call and it was a recording also. Why can't these people get a clue. We need to shut down the 206-201-2400 phone line completely.
Got the same IRS message just now, and it's a complete fraud! I worked for the IRS for 30 years and they would NEVER leave such a stupid message. They don't threaten, but try to help you if you need it. I'm forwarding it on to the IRS Criminal Investigation Department. ;-) Let them take care of it!
