Got the same call as Mike.
He kept asking if who was the main user and got mad and raise his voice when I told him it was a family computer.
I told him not to raise his voice at me and hung up.
Never got a chance to ask him to many question, since my guard went up as soon as he told me that he was from MS and was a Tech.
First red flag came when he only knew the initial of my first name.
Second flag came when I remember that the computer came from my neighbor and my name should not be attach!
Got a call for my husband today. Told later that he wasn't home. She continued to speak to me telling me that it was Microsoft. There was also a lot of other voices in the background. She started telling about our computer. I didn't let her finish. I said you are not Microsoft--they don't call you, she was a scam and don't call us again. Remove our number from your list. I then hung up the phone. So tired of these con artists.
They are still at it. I got the call today on my AT&T phone while I was on the phone with Time Warner Cable trying to troubleshoot why I couldn't get my Chromebook on my WiFi when all other devices work and it used to work. Anyway the same heavy Indian/Pakistani accent claiming to be from Microsoft. When I said "no you are not" he hung up.
Just got a call from this number telling me my computer had viruses that he was from Windows support center. He wouldn't give me a call back number I said I know your not from Microsoft he then said if stone one calls claiming from Microsoft is a scam. Well I told him not to call my house again and that this was a big scam and I will be contacting my county police. Then he proceeded to repeatedly say f u, fu, fu but the full words.
Hysterical Indian-accent guy with call center noises in background. Asks for me by name. Says he is from Windows and my computer has been hacked and is being used without my knowledge by HACKERS. Wants me to turn it on...Yesterday same guy said computer was sending out error code messages. Wanted me to turn computer on and press Windows>R on keyboard... Didn't do it either time.
