Forget you! Don't have some stupid automated voice call you and leave a message to call them back and not have the proper calling ID to show on the screen. Forget you! Collection agencies are only calling people just to make a buck or two.

then grossly inflate it and violate fed and state laws to collect it.

They know they are not legally entitled to collect it and don't give a damn they are calling wrong numbers. they also falsify COURT DOCUMENTS and cannot provide debt validation - because they never got it.
I got a call from these people too and told them I had already paid the original creditor. They said that wasn't there problem, that I had to pay them and then deal with the original creditor to get my money back?!?!?! Are they for fuc**** real?!?! I don't think that's legal at all. This is why I think this whole collection agency thing is a scam to begin with. I think they pull your creditors and then just call to say you owe them money for a bill not paid and probably get away with it from some people. Before I ended up hanging up on them, I said "I'll tell ya what. Do what you have to do, because I am not paying you for a bill that was already paid". I hung up and so far have not heard another thing and that was 6 months ago
I got the same call call from 1 800 8711840, and spoke to the customer service agent and came to know that I need to pay certian amount to University hospitals and he asked me to pay that amount immediately. I even received an invoice yesterday from them. I wanted to make sure calling UH before paying this? Any thoughts?
