Got a call from this number. Said my computer was sending error messages to their router. Heck my laptop is registered to my home, and they called me at work. Sounds suspicious to me. I told him that I had to leave the office and that my computer was already shutdown. Guessing he will call back later.
This number 718-514-7128 apparently is a pre-paid phone from Verizon. A supervisor was called about the scam / phising call I rec'd 05-10-2012 at 18:49 hrs, with a Indian speaking male telling me the same basic line about It is urgent I turn on my windows based computer to check for critical errors affecting it! Right!! lol, I own a Mac and he immediately hung up! We shall see IF Verizon follows thru with the complaint call now?
I get call from this number and other one unknown number everyday and that is very annoying. I can't even understand him,same thing about the computer problem.. he just called few minutes ago and I told him don't ever call my number,, and told him that my pc works well and I'm a computer technician and I knew its just a way of hacking identity.. I call my phone provider if they can do something to prevent this unwanted calls but they told me to register my phone to do not call list. it doesn't work, I still get calls from those bloody annoying people . just don't answer unknown numbers and they will stop there useless effort ...
I was called 5/11/2012 about 10:15 am. A guy with an Indian accent "from Microsoft" wanted to help me me "fix" my computer. The first step he wanted me to do was windows key plus "r" together. I didn't do it, and hung up.
this is for sure a scam! My husband is a computer tech and I know I have no problems with my computer. I myself had just got a call and the same as everyone else it was a middle eastern guy telling me something is wrong with my computer. My solution to it is tell them you do not understand why they would be calling you because you don't have a computer. They freak out the minute I tell them
Just got the same call from this idiot! When I told him that I have the very best spyware & anti-virus running on my system and there are no alerts telling me that there's a problem he got really quiet. When I asked for his name and contact info he hung up....
