Telemarketers for Foundation American Veterans
by: Anonymous
Associated Community Services (ACS) is a telemarketing firm based in Southfield, Michigan which reportedly filed for bankruptcy & owes more than $15 million in unpaid taxes to the IRS and more than $1 million in unpaid state tax. ACS is owned & operated by Robert W. Burland, Jr. and Richard T. Cole.
ACS has been cited by the Michigan Atty General as being in violation of numerous laws and ACS retains up to 90% of funds received for telemarketing services on behalf numerous charities, including the Foundation for American Veterans. ACS badgers it’s victims repeatedly at all hours with high pressure tactics.
The owners are con artists and should be held account for their activities. I urge you to contact the owners and give them a dose of their own medicine. I’m sure they will be happy to hear from you at any time of the day.:-)
I presently have at least a dozen calls from this number on my caller ID, which identifies the caller as Foundation for American Veterans. I do not answer telephone fundraising solicitation calls and have asked to be removed from the calling list of this organization. They still call at least once/day. It's a shame these paid fundraisers are giving the vets foundation a bad name (as evidenced by all the foregoing complaints) with their persistent, rude and harassing techniques.
I particularly hate scam charities - especially the ones that pretend to help veterans and worse wounded veterans. Even the big ones can and do claim their found-raising costs as "education and awareness" program spending so that their filings with the IRS look legitimate. Very little if any money actually goes to vets unless the crooks running it have family members that are veterans - although most come from a long line of service avoiders ....
If anyone can determine a valid address for this solicitor, please post it. I have an unlisted number, I am on two do not call lists, I have called them and left a message and attempted to speak with an operator. The mail box is full and the operator is out to lunch.
It says Found American Vets, but I had to BLOCK it, because they call relentlessly all hours of the day and night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sick of calls like this, that I don't even answer the phone unless I know who it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
