This is a debt collector based in Houston, TX. They mask their number so it appears someone is calling you from your own area code. When I checked this number in the White Pages reverse look-up, the results state this number is based in Washington Courthouse, OH. How is this legal?
I get a call from them about five times a day. Once a day they leave a Voicemail that is four minutes long and an entire song. Yep. No one talking just music.
We have been receiving phone calls from this number as well. The person asked for a number of people that we don't know. We just moved in the area and our phone provider gave us our new number.
I tried to explain this to the imbecile but he wouldn't believe me. Finally hung up on him. He said he was with URS probably made the name of the company up.
This number is from a damn bill collector. Why do they need to hide thier original number? This should tell you something, maybe they are doing something Illegal? This number is now blocked from my home phone.
Hey! Great job finding out all that info. The diddy at the top right of the screen says it's Athens, Lancaster. Lancaster - MAYBE, Athens - NO! But 740-313 is a Washington Courthouse Area Code and prefix. Great work.
And no; it's not legal, but most of these collection companies that buy debt are not licensed to do business in the states they attempt to do business. And so these companies are not run by the most reputable people you've ever met. On top of that I can't imagine the people who work for these people and make their money of other peoples misery are the most reputable people around either.
But, that they are doing something illegal to make money does not surprise me.
I got a call too. They even sent me a letter. But they wanted me to pay my Dell bill to them. When I have ben making regular payments. They also wanted me to send they 5 post dated checks for $150.00 and ignore my Dell invoices.. They must be able to see the word IDIOT stamped on my forehead! Think I'll call Dell and ask them if they want the info! And then I kinda like the whistle idea. or put them on hold and just walk away from the phone.
