Capital One Credit something, wanted to speak with my husband, or if he wasn't available wanted me to verify his DoB. My husband doesn't have an account with CO, and I told her I wasn't verifying anything since they couldn't even get his cell number right. She was not amused.
Had a missed call from 804-588-4755 and when I called back they said it was the Capital One Front End Legal Department. They asked for my account number or ssn so they could find out what the call was about but since I had called them I said I would not give the info. They asked for a phone number which I gave and they pulled up our names but this can be done in many data bases online. He said I could call the number on the back of my card and they could then connect me. So, I called the number on the card and of course they said there is no record of a call or any problem with my account so obviously this was a phishing call trying to get info. If a legitimate call is received from a card company they will already have the information necessary to identify the account so BE CAREFUL not to be caught off guard and give out your personal/ account information.
I don't "answer" 800 numbers. i just answer and put it on mute. a female voice said hello a bunch then hung up. they called back again, and again. I'm blocking this number.
