This is happening to me as well while I am at my desk at work. Within a 30 minute time span, I received 10 calls, from 10 different numbers, and it would always beep twice then hang up. The 11th time, it was one of the numbers that had called previously and there was a woman with a heavy accent on the line. Asked for someone who does not work here. I told her that they had called 11 times within 30 minutes and that they should stop calling my number immediately. Very strange and very annoying!
Called my line and asked for a previous boss. Female boss said she was calling on behalf of Chase Walker and the company was Catavolt. I said I would take a message and have my boss call her back. She said she was not authorized to give out her boss's number. I asked her then how could I ask my boss to call him back. She hung up.
I receive calls from these idiots multiple times a day and from a variety of different spoofed numbers. They are definitely a foreign call center, spoofing US numbers.
They change company names as often as they change numbers. Most calls are "from the office of" so and so, at LogiAnalytics, LogRhythm, MagiNet Technologies, SafeNet, Divergent, Marketing 123, Veronis Systems, Ziff Davis, Zilliant, Tech Research Assets, IT Business Edge, Summitt International, IT Brief, B2B Tech Hub, Metric Stream, Neosoft....and occasionally, they say they have packages to send from FedEx, UPS, Citibank, Bank of America, or say they are from the State Chamber of Commerce, and when I ask which state, they hang up! They are the worst scammers of all time! Beware! They are phishing for personal and company information.
just received a call from this number at my office.
asking me to put them in touch with marketing managers. I indicated we were not interested in their services, and thanked them for calling - they hung up.
