This is happening to me as well while I am at my desk at work. Within a 30 minute time span, I received 10 calls, from 10 different numbers, and it would always beep twice then hang up. The 11th time, it was one of the numbers that had called previously and there was a woman with a heavy accent on the line. Asked for someone who does not work here. I told her that they had called 11 times within 30 minutes and that they should stop calling my number immediately. Very strange and very annoying!
Got a call from Bowling Green, VA with someone saying "hello" twice and then asking for Pamela Wilson. I told her she had the wrong number (which she did) and she hung up. This number was calling a co-worker all morning who did not answer and they did not leave a message.
A woman with a heavy Asian accent called and asked for my name at "blahblah Corp". I don't work at Blahblah Corp but that is my name, I said. She said she needed to check her information and would call back. She did call back from 804-596-1076 the next day and asked for my first name Johnson. I said, I spoke with you yesterday and she denied having called. I recognized her voice. She said she made a mistake and hung up. It's super creepy that they know my name and my work # and won't tell me what they want.
Laura calling from "Patrick Chuy's" office at "Illumiti". She asked for a supervisor, and I asked what the call was regarding (our policy), she said she could not tell me. I asked what the company does, again she said she could not tell me. At this point, I'm annoyed. I put her on hold to google the info before passing the call through (due to our company policy), and she hung up immediately.
Woman with a slight Indian accent called, her name was June Web (haha)... calling from Mark Barstein's office, she's just an assistant so she's not privy to the nature of the call, just being a helpful little helper and caller for her boss, she's just going to patch her boss through once she gets MY guy on the phone.... pshhhhhhh this ain't my first call from Mark Barstein's office at Top Opps... I told her this and she said she'd make a note. Then within a minute or two I get a call from a blocked number and it's someone dialing our fax line... that's just lovely. I bet that happens to everyone that gets up front with them, a loud fax line to the ear.
