This is happening to me as well while I am at my desk at work. Within a 30 minute time span, I received 10 calls, from 10 different numbers, and it would always beep twice then hang up. The 11th time, it was one of the numbers that had called previously and there was a woman with a heavy accent on the line. Asked for someone who does not work here. I told her that they had called 11 times within 30 minutes and that they should stop calling my number immediately. Very strange and very annoying!
Received a call as described multiple times above. Talked to consumber debt defense lawyer. Likely a firm based overseas gathering information for deb collectors. They outsource this type of research overseas to avoid having to follow privacy laws, FDCPA, and so forth. They spoof caller ID numbers and gather any information they can.
Same as above. I got calls from both 804-596-1075 and 804-5961076. I didn't answer either one due to the above comments. They don't leave messages. Calls say they are from Bowling Green, VA. I think they are all scams.
Guy with a thick Indian accent called the corporate main line and asked for an employee. I put him on hold and found that the individual no longer works for the company. I came back on the line to tell the guy he is no longer with the company but there was just silence on the other end. I hung up.
A different person calls every day. They say they are from the office of "insert fake name here" with Tri-net, asking for the owner of my company. When I tell them he doesn't work out of the office and I can take a message and get it to him, they say they will call back. I tell them they will never get him calling our office and they should leave a message, "I am not authorized to leave my number"... So I say "then you shouldn't be calling me" Cuh-lick....
