I had to cancel DirecTV because I moved & my new house doesn't provide line-of-sight for the dish. After 9 years of subscribing to all channels & paying an exorbitant amount of money, DirecTV is trying to add all kinds of "final" charges to my account. These people seem to be able to get away with anything. If I don't pay, it will be a black mark on my credit report. I thought there were laws in place to help the consumer. But entertainment, phone & utility companies always pull this crap.
I've been getting a couple of calls a day from this number, but when I answer there is no response.
I just have to say they aren't evil because of the price raise. You just didn't read your agreement. You sign up for a 2 year contract. The first year is discounted and the second year it goes up to the regular rate. They didn't hide that fact. It is listed in the agreement in plain English. They hit you with an ETF because you cancelled before your 2 year agreement was up. Again, not a surprise there.
Gotta love when people complain that a company is horrible when in fact you agreed to the terms but just didn't read them. That isn't their fault.
