Cancelled DTV Services because my bill went up $40 after the first year. I negotiated (yes, you can negotiate, not just take what they give you) a 2 year contract in which I would pay the same price for 2 years but they decided to up it anyway. When I called to cancel I was told I would pay a cancellation fee, I told them no as THEY broke the contract by upping my price after we negotiated that I would pay one price for 2 years. When the person said its part of the contract I told her since THEY broke the agreement there was no contract and I was prepared to contact the attorney general and the better business bureau if they want to push it. She said no more after that. Blocked the call because they will not ever get me back as a customer!!!
I lived up to my 2 year contract with Direct TV. Then I asked for new 2 year contract and they said NO. I have to keep paying the full price . . forever. So I cancelled and got a great deal from ATT.
I have been doing this back and forth for 6 years now. They don't get it. They punish you with full price for being a good paying customer for 2 years . . then it's screw you.
So the only way to play the game that these companies made is to switch back and forth at the end of the 2 year contracts.
If they charged me full price the first year, then gave me 10% off the next year, then 5% the 3rd year, and no more after that . . I would stay with them Forever. They would save a lot of money they pay technicians, and minimum wage customer service rep's on the phone all day trying to convince you to pay full price.
They created it that way . . there is no other way around it. They made the rules. Think of all the new equipment they have to use by losing customers every 2 years . . . They just don't Get It :-)
I cancelled my DirectTV a few days ago and decided to Google this number. Thanks to you, I now know who is calling me several times a day and hanging up when voicemail answers.
I get daily calls from this number since I asked to cancel Direct TV. I wanted to terminate service for a legitimate reason, and to my knowledge,they are a reputable firm. Can't believe they are behind these phone calls.
