I just got a call from this number. My two year contract was up, I called them to see if I could get some kind of deal to renew. Their customer service was basically telling me the only help they could give me was if I could get them more subscribers they would give me a $10 break each month for a year. I ask about maybe staying and upgrade my equipment, they said I would have to pay for an up grade. I'm with DISH now and I find it is much better and even the second year will be about $40 a month less, currently I am saving about $60 a month for the same programming.
Just terminated 2 yr contract w/DTV and got a "917" call today but didnt answer. I agree totaly DTV is a multi billion $$ ripoff company. For starters their programming options are lousy in xchange for exorbitant rates charged. When i signed up in april 2012 i have no recollection of any mention i was entering a 2 yr commitment. while i'm sure it IS in the agreement, I wasnt there at install and a former tenant of rental property signed "on my behalf" which of course according to DTV legally binds ME somehow. A drastic change of my situation took place 5 mos into contract term. My rental property where i had three DTV units installed had suffered extensive damage to lower level when about a third of the entire city of minot ND was flooded in a natural 'act of God' disaster in 2011. Unable to secure funds to renovate was forced to sell property and moved in 9/12. Despite numerous attempts to explain why & how I no longer had a home or apt & was living w/relatives all I get is same robotic idiotic answers. now they want to charge me 260$ early term fees. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DIRECT TV TO ANYONE! U can do waaay better in choices of what you wana see with Netflix and free TV via internet + save yourself bundles. Whew thanx for reading THAT rant folks now i feel soooo much better...LOL
I believe it was Directv.Canceled their service after 5 years. 107.38 a month for television. I said hell no.My contract is up on April 1st. So good bye Directv.Outrageous prices that you would never lower.
