Direct tv is bs. I entered into a contract for Internet and tv and after the agreement was done and the tv installer was finished both him and the tech support told me the Internet would be installed shortly. Later I found out that they don't offer Internet in my area and were still charging me for both services. When I told them I wanted out of the deal after finding out they lied to me they said I would have to pay $500. My wife wrote a letter to the state attorney general, who stepped in and made them release us from the contract. Instead of informing me that my contract was void from the start they sent me an outrageous bill and when I talked to them it took going through a lot of hassle just to get them to admit that I no longer had a contract. They are liars!!!!!!!
My DirectTV HDDVR Receiver burnt out - fought to get the unit replaced without buying into a 2yr plan or extended service plan. I finally got the new unit but with no return shipping label for the smoked unit. Called and requested label. No label came. Bill came in with an extra $250 on it for the unit. Called billing. They said they would fix the bill and send return shipping label. No label. Friday evening we were disconnected. Called billing. Their phone system flags your account and you can not speak to a human - your sent directly to the payment options. Could not even cancel for 4 days.... Now its cancelled and Im getting called from this number, with no message. Maybe its time to answer them and have a little polite fun.
Directv hmmmmm crap is what they are. We moved and called to transfer our services, we told the associate on the phone that we were moving in with someone that already had Directv but we still wanted to transfer our services since this was a going to be a room mate situation where I would be responsible for what I wanted etc. We were informed by Directv that is was against Their Policy to has 2 serate accounts going to the same address hmmmm what about apartments they are technically the same address? So we then asked since our room mates contract was going to be up in a few months and ours was still a year to go could we consolidate our accounts and once again we were told it is against Their Policy. Well no they are hitting me with an early termination fee and they are also going to charge me for cancelling the service protection contract as well these fees are close to $400, mind you I wanted to transfer the services and not cancel my contract but it is them who will not allow me to transfer the services so who is breaking the contract me or Directv? It wasn't me.
We signed up for a one year contract...they automatically enroll you every year at your anniversary date.
We just cancelled with them also, was tired of the monthly bill going up just about every month...$150 a month for tv? Nope, that is crazy!
