I received a phonecall regarding my credit card from this number. When I answered the phonecall, an india man explained that my credit card balance is more than 3000. I asked what credit card he was talking about. He said it regards chase or captial one. Thank God I don't have these credit card at all.
Even if you had a Chase or Capital One card, call your bank first and make sure this weird phone call is legit. Don't want to be spitting out 3k or whatever the amount is to a complete stranger who's looking to steal your money without you knowing.
Most credit card companies use snail mail for communication and would rarely call. Same goes for the IRS scam calls. I know for a fact the IRS NEVER calls and ONLY communicates via mail.
My credit card company has called me a couple time when they suspected unauthorized purchases were being made on it. They were correct twice, but the third time I made a large purchase, right after my divorce.
Instead of talking to the agent who called, I told him that I would call the company back at the number I had to contact them. This way I give no information to scammers.
