Robocall saying I qualify to have debt forgiven due to lender violation of Fair Credit Reporting Act. Obviously scam or phishing because 1. phone on DNC list; 2. came to cell phone not home phone associated with loans; 3. Press 1 to be connected, or press 2 to be removed from list; 4. caller not identified; 5. robocall
got call from 201-410-4458 caller ID said "NEW JERSEY" on Friday 04-28-17 at 1245 PM.
call from male at card member services planning to lower my credit card interest.
gave him a fake visa card number and he placed me on hold several times to check the number.
he eventually must have discovered he was being scammed as he finally just hung-up.
all told spent almost 14 minutes wasting criminals time.
called my cell and didn't leave a message. must be calling random numbers because only my family has my cell number and i have no debt; if it was a call like the others are describing..
These creepy spaming thieves must be desperate Look at how many people rec'd a call from that number in a short period of time. (and probably a ton we don't know about) I got a call, on my cell, a few minutes ago. Didn't know the number so didn't answer. No message. I never use to get spam/phishing calls on my cell. Now I get a load of them. Best thing to do is .. if you don't know the number, do NOT answer it. If it's important, or someone you know, they will leave a message. That Do Not Call list is a waste. Spread the word to everyone you know who gets calls from numbers they don't know. DO NOT answer numbers you don't know.
