I receive a call many times during the day from 201-465-8180. The last two times they called me (within 30 minutes) it sounded like they were blowing a horn at me and then the very last call someone just kept saying "ummmmm". So annoying. Wish there was some way to block these people. Also, I work late at night and they start calling around 8 am. Any way to block this number? I am on the No Call List.
I just got my first one. June 20 2013 went to voicemail but I have to say I LOVE THE RESPONSES YOU HAVE GIVEN! All you other people who found intersting ways to annoy the caller. Who would have thought ever would have such a laugh over an annoying unlisted phone call! Especially the "We are not Jeff" person.
I received a call from this number and when I answered the phone all I heard was a bunch of noise in the background like papers shuffling and it sounded like a call center. A man in a very broken English voice said "Hello" and he sounded like he was from India or Pakistan. I said hello again and he simply hung up. If you want the calls to stop, dump the house phone for month or so and use a pre-paid phone (such as a trac phone) then have the house phone re-connected with a different number and dump the trac-phone! Learn how to say hello in Chinese, then when any of these idiots calls back, answer by saying hello in Chinese. They hang up every time...no kidding!!!
I knew this had to be another scam or debt collector looking for someone else.
Like Not Jeff above, I've been calls from different collection agencies since July 2011 looking for this Teresa person. I never did answer. I've had my number for 15 years.
All companies gave up after a few weeks or months, except for Portfolio Recovery. Calling and calling.
No message was left from this number, and so far I got just one call. When I saw it was a NJ area code, I knew it was one of those calls. Most of them have been East Coast based.
When I can, I just hang up on them. That's what THEY are going to do anyway, and there's not going to be a message. Why let it ring?
I have been getting these calls off and on for over 5 years (when I got this number). The woman that had the phone number before me must have been a real loser. Chase Bank has been after her, the above outfit and even the Mormon church...
