I receive a call many times during the day from 201-465-8180. The last two times they called me (within 30 minutes) it sounded like they were blowing a horn at me and then the very last call someone just kept saying "ummmmm". So annoying. Wish there was some way to block these people. Also, I work late at night and they start calling around 8 am. Any way to block this number? I am on the No Call List.
I just got a call from them today... He had a very strong Indian accent. He said he was calling because my windows was getting corrupted and was asking me to turn on my Windows computer so that he could help me find the problem. Now if there's one thing the entire planet knows, no one calls you at your home to let you know that you have computer problems and volunteers to fix them for free much less the simple fact there's no way on earth that man would know if I was having some sort of computer problem. So after a few seconds on the phone with him I just set the phone down and figure the longer I can keep him waiting on the line the last time he can spend bothering anyone else. He only stayed on the phone for about a minute and then hung up. So, I hang up my phone and guess who called back again 30 seconds later! he apologizes saying we must have gotten disconnected and asked me if I'm in front of my computer again. So I put the phone down again and just let it sit there and he eventually hangs up again. so of course he calls back again and this time I started to question him. He keeps saying my windows is getting corrupted and I'm going to lose my computer if he doesn't help me. I asked him so you are from windows then? And he says no windows doesn't do tech support, that they hire these people to do it. So I just continue to give him a ltle bit of a hard time and then eventually I told him no. thank you, that I think I would just rather let my computer get corrupted lol. I hung up on them and of course he calls back again but this time I didn't answer and I haven't heard back from him since. Yet. The caller ID said Oakland, New Jersey. The first several times he called it would not display a number, only one of the times that he called did one show up
I got a similar call to yours. It was a different number though. They too said my computer was downloading corrupt files. I said really, that's weird since I don't have a computer. Very heavy Indian accent. I checked with Microsoft and they said they had received numerous calls concerning these people. The number i got my call from was 253-802-0309. Am on the DO NOT CALL registry but it does not good so am buying a call blocker.
I forgot to mention that when I call the phone number, the only thing that happens is a quick beep and then I'm disconnected. It doesn't ring, I don't get a busy signal, nothing... Just one short beep and then its over
