I receive a call many times during the day from 201-465-8180. The last two times they called me (within 30 minutes) it sounded like they were blowing a horn at me and then the very last call someone just kept saying "ummmmm". So annoying. Wish there was some way to block these people. Also, I work late at night and they start calling around 8 am. Any way to block this number? I am on the No Call List.
I always laugh when I hear "restraining order" mentioned by these clowns. It is clear they are just throwing out legalese with no clue as to what is being said. Restraining orders are issued by a court and served by an officer of the court directly to the person named in the order. The only discussion would be to ensure the recipient understands the terms of the order and what happens if the terms are violated. Normally this happens with the recipient of the order in court before the issuing judge but not always. In any event, this is just a debt collector using scare tactics to get to you or someone who they think can be reached at your phone number. If indeed you were receiving a genuine call about a restraining order the caller would identify themselves as an employee of the court issuing the order and with the name of the person to whom it applies along with a call back number that would actually ring in the courthouse.
No legitimate debt collector is going to pretend to put you under a restraining order. I got a call from here, kind of similar. At first I freaked out, but then I started asking questions. I was in law school for a couple of years & I don't remember much, but I do know you are never served with this kind of info over the phone. And if a debt collector threatens you with a restraining order wouldn't that mean you wouldn't be allowed to contact them to pay the debt? These people are not telemarketers or debt collectors. They are criminals. Look at all the different stories they have told people to get their money and information. Never believe what a stranger tells you on the phone if you want to keep your m
