How did you get them to refund anything? I would love to speak to someone at Dell. I called because Microsoft said that I had to call my computer company (for the Microsoft update that thousands of people had problems with) and even though my computer is only a year old and under warranty, I had to purchase a software warranty. 239.00 They guy cleanned my registry, restored my system and the update went through. I got a disk in the mail and I new system restore disk (I had told the man that my disk was in a closet so I guess he thought he had to send me another one.) He said someone would call back on Saturday and I asked why. I thought he said it was just to make sure it was still working. On Saturday someon called, lost many of my settings and said he had to hangup but would call back in a half hour. He didn't but he still had my computer tied up. He wasn't doing anything except occasionally he would pop back on. I turned it off so that he couldn't view it but it was disconnected and he got back on but still no communication. I had to turn off the computer to get rid of him. I complained and got another call today and the guy really wanted to restore my contacts plus he didn't understand what I was talking about and it ended up with my computer tied up for a half hour. I kept telling him I would add the contacts again and he could stop but he kept going for a half hour. Finally he gave up and I got him off. I just want to talk to Dell but all I can ever get is INDIA.
I have been receiving calls from this number for about a week now. I blocked my number and called back. Turns out this is Altec Technology. I finally answered the call the next day and it was a 39 second conversation asking if my issue had been resolved with Dell. Now that I know who it was and why they were calling, I am actually impressed with the customer service.
Dell continues to amaze me with thier customer service! Simply amazing ...
I didn't answer the call to my cell phone, but I now realize it probably was from Dell. They called me yesterday on my land line and I told them my pc issue was resolved, but evidently they didn't realize that my land line and cell phone numbers are connected with me, so I'm sure I'll keep getting these calls to my cell phone until I answer. Its overkill, but I do appreciate the followup. I wonder what they pay their employees compared to what it would cost in this country.
