Same here.... I had problems with my Dell computer and had to call for help....naturally I ended up with someone in India who couldn't speak english....always the case... Now they call 3 to 4 times a day to see if the problem was taken care of...or they hang up when you answer the phone. Sick and tired of them calling....once would be enough. And oh yes, they always want to sell you something. For once I would like to talk to someone in the USA who can speak english...
It is from All Tech. After calling me too many times, I went to Dell.com and found "feedback" and gave them my opinion of them calling me and not leaving a message and the caller ID saying "unknown caller"!! It stopped immediately!! I told them to send me an email if they wanted to know how their tech support was.
I came home yesterday and noticed someone had called me from this number 201-520-9200. They didn't leave a msg. I dailed the back and could not understand what was said in the greeting. After I googled the number...I found out it was, "ALTEC TECHNOLOGY".
I'm sad to say, the Dell Techs (the Indian guys) were unable to solve my pc software problem. After many hours on the telephone for 2 days...my problem was left up to me to solve.
I googled: How to turn on automatic updates for Windows XP. After running the update I received an error msg. I googled error number:0X80070424. My answer was to copy and paste command below, in run command.
My problem has been solved. The automatic update is now turned on (the button is GREEN).
I'm not sure if I should thank Dell Techs (the Indian guys) for causing me to lose so much of my valuable time. One thing I can say is I've learned something. Go to google before calling Dell for assistance.
