Just got a call from 732-228-4545 and a woman with an accent said that she was from the NAR Group and that I have a payday load from 2009 that is delinquent. she said they just received this information about an hour ago. It looks like they changed their numbers...
This is a scam people. If you were really getting sued you would have a paper trail and they would have your current info. The fact that you have a recording is the first red flag. The second is that they ask you to verify socials and address withhout giving you any info. If you get a call like this just hang up. They got me one time and its a scam.
Also note something else. In most cases debt collectors are not supposed to contact you at your place of business.
Which is what they are doing now. The pre-recorded messages are partial ones, which tells me they are coming into switchboard from an outside extension.
They are allowed to contact you at work until told they can't. Once they are told that they must stop. Telling them on the phone should be followed up with a certified, return receipt letter. In most cases though most of these debt collection companies are run by criminals and will keep calling.
