I just received a call from 201-891-1029 I said hello, someone was breathing very heavy.......I said hello again and they said nothing, yes this is CREEPY. I have no idea who the caller is.
This is Medco and they call to leave msg that they want you to change to mail order or to remind you it is time for a refill. I got the call to tell me a auth was in place for one of my medications. tThey only ask for name and date of birth and can tell you what RX's you have filled so it is not a scam. They do not leave msessages as it relates to medication so you have to call them back per the HIPPA laws. It is a automated dialer and it is MEDCO. this numberi s actually for real.
Posts above saying it is a scam really are not correct. If you have Medco call it and they will verify info. You would not get a call if you do not use Medco.
I have gotten two phone calls from this number, one right after the other and they asked for two different people during each call. Very weird. The number is from New Jersey, my caller ID says Medco Pharmacy and I live in Texas.
I had just called MEDCO about not covering one of my prescriptions. The woman was very helpful and tried to initiate an authorization thru my doctor's office to get my medicine approved. When she returned my call, to give me the status, it came up as this number (201-891-1029). I didn't recognize the number (as I had called an 800 #), but she left a message. It was the same woman I spoke to when I had called. I just spoke with her again, so it is a legitimate number, but I am not sure why they were calling folks that hadn't asked to be called like I did.
