This is Medco. They call me about once a month trying to convince me to get 90 day mail orders instead of 30 days at a time at my local pharmacy. They also try to convince me to get generics to "save money". I have informed them each time they have called for the last 10 years that I have double insurance, and therefore no copays, and I ask what the exact benefit is to making my prescriptions more complicated. They sit in silence for 20-30 seconds before saying "This is a courtesy to you!" in a cheery voice (obviously I stump them and they go to the default line on their script.
It is legitimate. They do have my prescription information that nobody else would have. They are merely looking to save themselves money and make your prescriptions more complicated for you. Legally they can call you whenever they want because you are an existing customer and the "do not call" list doesn't apply to them if Medco is servicing your prescriptions for your medical insurance company. I've just learned to hit the "ignore" button when they call. It saves us both the trouble!
they called and left a massage-saying it was for my fathers-acct. but my father does not have actt. through medco, or anything dealing with N.J. he naver even lived in N.J.
just rec'd a call from this number 201-891-1029, cam eup on caller id as MEDCO PHARMACY. Lady ask me to go over my prescriptions with her and told me that I have BC/BS health insurance. I never said I was who she was looking for but she did know my name. I am on the DNC list, and maybe its a issue with bc/bs not medco.
I work for medco and I just got a call from this number as well. It was to troubleshoot my connection because I was having issues. They do call people to offer to switch from retail to mail order for your prescriptions. In 90% of the cases you will save money. If you get alot of medications every month it might pay to hear them out and have them price your meds.
