when i called the number back, music played and then someone picked up saying, hello, i said hello back, silence for about a minute, i said hello again, and VERY rudely the person asked for the owner of the business. i said that this wasn't a business line, it was a residential line and he cut me off saying okay thank you and hung up
Next time they call tell them to hold a sec while you go and get the owner . Mute the phone if you have that option and just let em hang! I hate these ignorant ba$turds .
That or tell them the boss says to F#$% off and have a good day in that $hithole New Jersey
I just received one of these calls.
All I got was a weird tone played, followed by a female
voice saying "Thankyou, and Goodbye".
Alarm struck me immediately, as I have heard that
these calls forward you immediately to a high-rate
number, charging you immensely high, then hanging up on you.
Though I doubt this is possible; I suspect that in reality
the call is designed to arouse suspicion, leading you to
call the number back, at which point a connection is made, thus
charging you, although you will hear a false message that suggest
that the number is disconnected. This is most likely a trick.
My advice would be to hang up immediately upon recieving any call of this
nature, and NEVER phone back.
I also noticed that as soon as I hung up, the line rung again, and I answered. It was a telemarketer, no doubt related to the mysterious call. I simply shouted "[***] YOU" down the line and hung up.
I'm gonna do more reasearch on this in future, and hopefully will find
some way of retaliating to these calls, at which point I hope to have your support in bombarding these [***].
201-984-7867...along with another area code 973-482-3624...they are from USA...and I am from Canada!!! how the hell are they calling us and got our number. They keep calling us CONSTANTLY the past month.
