They say they are a location service. They say they are verifying an address for an item that needs to be mailed.
I called back the number cuz I didn't understand the name that the caller was giving me. Anyway, she gave me their website http://www.everest-inc.com/
Told her I didn't know who they were calling about. She says she'll remove my number from the list.
We'll see if that happens. Only time will tell.
Calls me every day. No message ever left.
Answered the call this morning and nobody said anything.
Called back and a guy named Dan answered and said he was with an insurance company.
I started getting calls from this number recently. After talking to them for a min they started telling me it was a call about a collections account. The problem was I cleared all my old screw ups years ago. They started telling me I still owed $200 and without proof of the payoff I was still responsible for that amount. At one point the girl on the phone said "You know sometimes on these smaller balances it's easier to just pay it and make it go away then fight it. Later she transfered me to another guy that more or less said the same thing. Not fishy at all.. After talking to best buy and transunion they both told me that it sounds like a scam and to be careful.
