These are criminals trying to get you to pay them extortion money without following what they are required to do by law.  Read the following:  It is incumbent upon them to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it.  Not the other way around.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Calls repeatedly, says they need to verify your name and address to "probably" deliver paperwork? When you call back, it says this number is not in service?

They say they are a location service. They say they are verifying an address for an item that needs to be mailed.
I called back the number cuz I didn't understand the name that the caller was giving me. Anyway, she gave me their website   http://www.everest-inc.com/
Told her I didn't know who they were calling about. She says she'll remove my number from the list.
We'll see if that happens. Only time will tell.

I doubt that they will honor your wishes.  They have a reputation of debt scamming and have been sued over it many times.
In case you need to information to send them a certified letter or to sue them:
