Got a call from this number. Said my computer was sending error messages. I told this bum that if he called the house again I would turn hm in......he did not like that at all. Called the number back. It is a phony. Don't fall for these scams. Not picking up the phone again for them...thank good ness for caller ID
I got a call from this number 202-202-1234 at 1:10pm and guy said his name is Alex. He said that my computer is sending some serious errors to their server and over the year they received a lot of these error messages on their server. He wanted me to get on the computer so he can show me all the errors. I told him that there are no major issues with my computer but I wanted to see how far he was getting. Anyways, he asked what browser do I use to access my computer? internet explorer or firefox mozilla. I said firefox mozilla and he asked to open the browser and type in www.teamviewer.com then click on Start full version it's free. This would have allowed him to access my computer from wherever he was.
So, I asked, why should I allow him the access, how do I know he was calling from microsoft. He said that they are microsoft certified engineers and they do have a reputation. He said that he doesn't want to force me if I was not comfortable and he only wanted to help save me from losing my computer. I said if I had a way to verify and he said again it's ok if I don't feel comfortable then I don't have to allow him to access. I believe it's a sophisticated scam for people who not computer savvy so watch out. This guy did have a south indian accent. I'm from North India but I can recognize different accents from India. This number 202-202-1234 shows Dist of Colombia on caller ID. I called this number back and got a message the number I dialed is invalid. I had a lot of calls from this number from last several weeks and finally I picked up the phone today to find out why these ppl keep calling.
