Fred said exactly what I had to say. Even worse, his first call came in just as we were awaiting news about the prognosis of a friend who was hospitalized. This guy is pond scum.

It's not the same guy every time and the one calling me doesn't bother with an Americanized name 'cause I asked if he was calling from Mumbai (Bombay). The accent is India Indian and he's supposedly calling from a tech consulting company for Microsoft because my Windows based computer is sending so many error messages to the main Windows server that it is causing problems. Am I aware that it is sending these messages. I said no, since I know it's not. He asked if I would connect to the internet and allow them remote access to my desktop so that they could fix the problem. Yesterday I called him some rather flowery words and told him that my home PC was not connected to any electrical power and to please stop calling.
He called again today - same time. I explained to him that I had 2 Windows-based computers and that neither were attached to power or turned on using battery power and that neither had access to the Internet, so I knew he was wrong. He said that it's been doing it over the last 3-6 weeks. (SEE GUYS - I'm getting farther into his script!) I said that's not possible because neither has been used for over a year, and I'm tired of this S... and please remove me from his calling list. He said he couldn't because I'm causing problems at their end. I asked if he knew who NSA was in the U.S. and he actually said yes. I told him that I wasn't at home and that I worked at NSA and that I had now recorded the call and kept him on the line long enough for the incoming line to be locked & traced and that I was sure his employers would be hearing about it. Click.
Yes, I received a call from someone named Sam from this number. He told me that threatening messages were being sent out from my computer and was I close to my computer so he could help me! I asked for his callback number and he gave me this-646-915-1375. I didn't call him back!
Looked this up. Microsoft says this scam has been out for several years. These jerks just want to get into unsuspecting people's computers and steal information, and maybe even take over the computer. I have told them several times to stop calling me, but it does no good. I will just ignore them from now on. They are idiots out for a fast buck.
