Because these calls are almost 99% coming from India is why. We have no jurisdiction there. Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so. All we can do is report at this time and hope they can get on India to stop this.

•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
I got a call from the same number and I hung up because they said our family owed them a lot of money and that they will send us back to our home country. Then I called back, curious, and I had to leave a message, and it said that " you called IRS and as you can see, I am not available at this moment so please leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can." By the time he said, "I am unavailable." I knew it was a scam because real IRS people would say "we" because it's a company. So I left the message that I knew it was a scam and I old them to "stop scamming people, we all know you now and F*** you. Goodbye." Scam! avoid this number.
I received a called left me a message from indian accent said that this call from Department of legal affairs of US Treasury and they were try to contact me regards to a very important matter asked me to call them back 202-239-0014, If I were busy or delay call them back, I may be in more legal trouble.

My mother is Korean. I walked in and heard her very upset. She handed me the second phone and I eased drop on their conversation. He was threatening to have her deported if about $3,000 was not payed, and told her to call him back once she got to the police station. Undortunatly she gave him her cell number (please don't give them cellphone numbers or anything of that sort).
I just got a call from this number 800-829-1040, name listed on caller ID is PRO RES OFC. There were a woman with the Indian's accent claimed that she is the IRS Agent. I thought this was a scam and hang up, immediately, my phone rang again and now with a male and also had Indian's accent. He also claimed himself as an IRS Agent and demand to speak to me. I was denied to be myself and rather be my sister. I asked him if he needed anything just mail to us, we want in writing. He said he did sent but It was refused to sign. I said, we can pick up and sign at the Post Office. He kind of quiet for brief moment and said "No. We can't do that because this is important document". He continued: "Tell her to call me at 202-239-0014, my name is Jordan Phillip & I am an IRS Agent, your sister has problem with IRS". I asked where his office located at? He said in Washington. I said OK our lawyer will contact you. After spoke with him I was mad & want to find out his phone number. I searched online and found this forum and so glad that I was not alone to get this scam phone call. I feel much relief now and thanks to all that shared their stories, which help a lot to others like me. This is my very first time to participate in sharing my story online, because I feel that I do the right thing.
MY UPDATE - Curiously, I just called back 202-239-0014 and demand to speak to Jordan Phillip, someone answered the phone and handed to him. (Let me tell you, they have tracking), he knew right away that I was calling by stating my name. I told him I was the lawyer and called on behalf of my client to find out what's matter? He did not hang up but he never spoke again, so I hung up. I wanted to call back again but I afraid this might be another scam that asked you to call and charging you by the minutes.
CAN THE AUTHORITY DO SOMETHING TO STOP THIS !!! Before someone had heart attack by this phone scam.
