This was "Amanda", a very pleasant robot voice claiming to be from "Home Protection", making an illegal call in violation of the National Do-Not-Call Registry. "She" was looking for homes to receive a free security system, but the line went dead in the middle of "her" spiel. Darn shame - I LOVE when these folks call. In the past I've had them on the line for 30 or more minutes, asking softball questions about their systems, and, best of all, setting up an appointment for an installation. When an installer comes, I hand them a copy of the NDNCR to give to their superiors, reminding them that they are working for a company that is violating the law with their sales practices, and suggesting that they might do better working for a more stable, law-abiding company. Sometimes you just gotta' fix things yourself...
Automated call with pre-recorded message saying that my company is pre-approved for a business loan regardless of my personal credit score. My phone has been on the DNC list for over a decade and I confirm it every year.
Why am I on the Do Not Call List? Why did they make the list if it does not do any good. I was furious after finding out I quit what I was working on just to get a Robo call. How do we get someones attention to make this quit?
